The Russian Air Force has identified corrosion in the tail assemblies of 80 per cent of its fleet of MiG-29 'Fulcrum' combat aircraft, Russian state media announced on 19 August. According to the reports Major General Oleg Barmin, deputy commander-in-chief of armaments, said: "In relation to some of [the MiG-29s] it has been decided to carry on with the use of the keels [tail assembly parts] and carry out periodic checks
