The Saudi Arabian arm of the terrorist network Al-Qaeda, posted encouragement to the mujahedeen to continue to follow Osama bin Laden's directives and strike oil targets not only in Saudi Arabia, but Mexico, Venezuela and Canada. Written as an article claimed to have been posted on Sawt al-Jihad (voice of Jihad), an online magazine monitored by SITE (Search for International Terrorist Entities) a U.S. monitory group. It is quoted as saying
"We should strike petroleum interests in all areas which supply the United States, and not only in the Middle East, because the target is to stop its imports or decrease it by all means,"
It would seem that the threat is actually aimed at the United State's oil supply, but it must be mentioned that Canada remains the top supplier of oil to the US, followed by Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela.
