US to destroy obsolete ICBM motors
The US Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center's Rocket Systems Launch program, Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico, plans to release a request for proposal for a programme for the disposal of old and currently unusable solid-propellant rocket motors from retired intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). The disposal of these motors will create empty storage space needed for serviceable rocket motors.
